Imphal, Aug. 23 -- The Meitei Alliance has formally petitioned the Joint Monitoring Group (JMG) to abrogate Manipur's Suspension of Operations (SoO) tripartite pact with Kuki armed groups if ground rule violations are proven.

It has rejected attempts by the Kuki National Organisation (KNO) and United People's Front (UPF) to dismiss allegations raised by the state regarding systematic violence and camp desertions.

The Meitei Alliance is a transnational platform of Meitei diaspora and community organisations. It advocates the protection, peace and territorial integrity of Manipur and addresses issues concerning the Meitei community at regional, national and international levels.
