Imphal, Aug. 24 -- Police in Manipur's Imphal West district arrested a 26-year-old man and seized an illegal firearm, along with a magazine loaded with live ammunition, from his possession on Monday, police said.

The accused was identified as Oinam Gipson Singh, 26, alias Gypsy alias Cheichatpa, a resident of Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai in Imphal West district and son of Binod Singh. He was arrested during an operation at his hideout in Moidangpok Maning Leikai under the jurisdiction of the same district.

A .32 pistol, a magazine loaded with four rounds of .32 ammunition and two communication devices were recovered from his possession.
