Imphal, Sept. 30 -- The Kuki-Zo Council (KZC), the common political platform of the Kuki-Zo community, has set October 10 as the deadline for the government to address the issue of community members' bodies lying in the morgue of Churachandpur District Hospital. The council has warned of intensified protests if the matter remains unresolved.

The decision was taken during a six-hour leadership consultation held at the Kangpokpi district headquarters on Tuesday. The meeting also saw the KZC reiterate its demand for a Union Territory with a legislature.

The consultation was organised by the Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) under the theme "Unity, Consultation, Progress" and brought together political leaders, civil society representatives,...
