Imphal: A joint operation by central and state security forces led to the arrest of an insurgent and the recovery of two hand grenades along with a threat note reading "Last warning, KCP PWG" in Imphal East district on Tuesday.

Police said two hand grenades were discovered at the residence of Guruaribam Bhavananda in Brahmapur Guruaribam Leikai under Porompat police station limits. The explosives, found inside a black plastic bag along with the threat note were later safely defused by a bomb disposal squad that rushed to the spot after receiving information.

Following the recovery, a coordinated follow-up operation led to the arrest of an active cadre of the Kangleipak Communist Party-People's War Group ...
