Imphal, Nov. 3 -- The proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) has claimed responsibility for twin explosions targeting two residences in Manipur's Imphal East and Imphal West districts on Monday, which caused property damage.

The explosions occurred at the residences of local singer Adhikarimayum Premananda Sharma, popularly known as Raju Nong, in Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai in Imphal West, near the Manipur Legislative Assembly, and Yambem Victor in Kongpal Mutum Leikai in Imphal East, police sources said.

The evening blast at Victor's residence damaged three vehicles parked in the courtyard. An unexploded grenade found at the site was subsequently recovered and neutralised by a bomb disposal squad.
