Imphal, Nov. 8 -- Unidentified armed individuals fired multiple rounds towards Songjang Kuki village along Manipur's Imphal-Tamei road early Saturday morning, causing widespread anxiety but resulting in no casualties or property damage.

Kangpokpi district police personnel were immediately deployed to the site to stabilise the situation. However, authorities have confirmed that no arrests have been made so far.

The Twilang Area Core Committee, in a statement issued from Twilang Lhang, condemned the incident and accused NSCN-IM cadres of carrying out the attack while allegedly operating under the guise of Thonglang Akutpa Volunteers.
