Imphal: A joint team of central and state security forces arrested five suspected cadres linked to different insurgent groups and seized arms and ammunition during a series of operations conducted across Manipur's valley districts over the last two days, officials said on Thursday.

In the first operation, security personnel apprehended two active members of the banned Revolutionary People's Front (RPF), the political wing of the proscribed People's Liberation Army (PLA), from separate locations in Imphal West district. The arrested individuals were identified as Mutum Mohen Singh (29) and Sanayaima Leichombam alias Quinton alias Leirangjao alias Leirengbi (50).
