Imphal, Sept. 6 -- A coalition of five banned underground outfits in Manipur, operating under the banner G-5, on Sunday claimed responsibility for a series of recent grenade attacks targeting the residences of two MLAs and a fuel station in Thoubal district.

In a joint press release, the G-5 said the attacks were "first warnings" to MLA S Ranjan (BJP) and MLA K Meghachandra (Congress).

The coalition claimed it had sought financial assistance from both lawmakers, who rejected the demands and allegedly challenged the "revolutionary movement."
