Imphal: The Manipur Home Department for the first time, has extended financial assistance of Rs1 crore to the family of late Constable Soibam Sanjit Singh, who lost his life in July 2025 while on duty at Sagoltongba in Imphal West district.

The compensation was provided under the Police Salary Package, a scheme introduced through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Manipur Police and the State Bank of India in October 2024.

The cheque was formally handed over to the constable's wife in the presence of their son at the office of the Superintendent of Police, Imphal West, on Tuesday, officials confirmed.
