Imphal, Aug. 24 -- A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) sub-inspector was injured in the left leg during a crossfire in Manipur's Senapati district on Monday morning.

Multiple houses were reportedly burnt, and security forces were deployed in the Taphou area.

Fresh incidents of firing and arson were reported from Taphou and adjoining areas of Senapati district, amid heightened tension in the area.

Between 9:20 am and 10 am, local media personnel who were covering the burnt and damaged houses were caught in crossfire from opposing directions. Sub-Inspector Pradeep Singh, 54, of the CRPF's 36th Battalion was injured in the leg during the firing.
