Imphal: A 63-year-old woman was allegedly murdered and valuables looted from her residence in Manipur's Kangpokpi district, triggering condemnation from Gorkha organisations in the state.

The deceased, identified as Puspa Devi, wife of Nakul Poudel, was found dead at her residence in Charhajare under Gamnom Sapermeina police station in the early hours of Monday.

According to reports, unidentified assailants allegedly attacked the woman with a blunt object before fleeing with gold ornaments, cash and other valuables from the house.

Officials said the victim had visible head injuries, suggesting she was fatally assaulted during the robbery.
