Imphal, Nov. 2 -- The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) has been asked to develop a comprehensive digital media policy and introduce a formal registration system for online news organisations in Manipur, amid the rapid expansion of digital journalism.

Chief Minister's Media Advisor Sunil Singh issued the directive on Sunday while addressing the 78th Information and Public Relations Day at the DIPR Auditorium in Nityaipat Chuthek. He stressed the need to strengthen the department's professional capacity and improve the speed of information dissemination so that mainstream media outlets can access government updates promptly and give them greater prominence in their coverage.
