Imphal, April 25 -- Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen has called for a firm stand against violence and urged collective action toward a peaceful, secure, and prosperous society in the state.
Kipgen, a Kuki leader elected from the Kangpokpi Assembly constituency, in an official statement, appealed to all communities to exercise utmost restraint and uphold peace.
The appeal came a day after retaliatory clashes broke out between armed groups reportedly belonging to two warring communities, the Nagas and Kukis, resulting in the loss of three lives at Mullam village in Ukhrul district.
