Imphal, July 14 -- The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), an umbrella body of several Meitei civil society organisations, has extended its support to the United Naga Council's (UNC) ongoing inter-district economic blockade, citing the recent violence at Kanto Sabal and growing security concerns.

In a statement issued on Monday, COCOMI said it was endorsing the blockade following the torching of six Meitei houses at Kanto Sabal, an area located along the Imphal West-Kangpokpi district boundary. The organisation alleged that the attack was carried out by "narco-terrorists."
