Manipur: CM calls for protecting senior citizens on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Monday urged citizens to reaffirm their commitment to safeguarding the dignity, rights and well-being of older persons across the state marking World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2026.
This year's global theme, "Beyond Awareness: Making Elder Abuse Prevention Work," emphasizes the need to move beyond awareness campaigns and translate concern into concrete action through stronger policies, community engagement and collective responsibility.
