Imphal, July 9 -- The Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU), a prominent civil society organisation representing the Kuki-Zo community in Manipur's Kangpokpi district, has submitted a memorandum to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, urging immediate intervention to end the month-long blockade on National Highway-2 and restore the uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to the district.

A copy of the memorandum has also been submitted to Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh.

In the memorandum, CoTU alleged that the blockade has severely disrupted the transportation of food, medicines and other essential goods from Imphal and Dimapur, causing widespread hardship for residents of Kangpokpi district.
