Centre releases advance tax devolution; Manipur gets Rs 682 crore
Imphal, Aug. 2 -- The Government of India on Saturday released an advance tax devolution of Rs 682 crore to Manipur as part of a nationwide disbursement of Rs 1,09,019 crore.
The advance instalment is intended to support capital expenditure and accelerate infrastructure development across states. The fresh release is separate from the regular monthly tax devolution scheduled for August 10, 2026, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance.
The Centre devolves 41% of the taxes it collects to states in 14 instalments each financial year. Welcoming the allocation, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
