Guwahati, Aug. 8 -- The Centre has officially incorporated 27 places and geographical features in Arunachal Pradesh into the Survey of India's maps, including strategic mountain passes, a lake, villages and a war memorial.

The Ministry of Science and Technology said on Friday that the names were standardised and included in official maps following consultations with the Arunachal Pradesh government.

The exercise is aimed at bringing uniformity to the naming of geographical locations, improving their identification and strengthening their representation in official government records and public maps.
