Assam: NCB reviews major drug seizures, strengthens coordinated crackdown on trafficking networks across state
Guwahati, Aug. 2 -- Two of Assam's biggest recent drug seizures, including 80,000 Yaba tablets in Sribhumi district and 669.734 kg of ganja concealed in cargo parcels at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, were among the major cases reviewed as the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and multiple enforcement agencies stepped up efforts to dismantle organised drug trafficking networks in the state.
The cases were reviewed during the second-quarter meeting of the State-Level Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) for 2026, convened by the NCB in Guwahati and chaired by Deputy Director General (North Eastern Region) R. Sudhakar.
