Imphal, Oct. 6 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Manipur this month, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh said on Tuesday, although the date and itinerary have not yet been finalised.

Speaking to reporters at the Chief Minister's Secretariat in Mantripukhri after a Cabinet meeting, Singh said Shah's visit is expected in October but that specific details are yet to be decided.

Shah had earlier been scheduled to visit Senapati on October 7 to lay the foundation stone for a new medical college. However, reports on Tuesday said the final schedule for the proposed visit is still being worked out.
