New Delhi, July 9 -- The United States will allow Ukraine to manufacture Patriot air defence missiles under licence, US President Donald Trump announced during his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Ankara on Wednesday.

Trump said the licensing agreement would help strengthen Ukraine's air defence capabilities as Kyiv continues to face intensified Russian missile attacks.

He also said that both Russia and Ukraine want the war to end, but described Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as "difficult" counterparts.
