New Delhi, April 17 -- A ten-day ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel came into effect on Friday, as US President Donald Trump said he was working to arrange a face-to-face meeting between the leaders of the two countries.
According to the ceasefire text released by the US State Department, once the truce takes effect, the Lebanese government will take steps to prevent Hezbollah and all other non-state armed groups within its territory from carrying out attacks against Israel.
