New Delhi, June 9 -- The first phase of the 2026 Defence Investiture Ceremony was held at Rashtrapati Bhawan, today.

The awards were conferred by President Droupadi Murmu and the event was graced by Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, along with other Ministers.

A total of 51 medals were conferred in 3 categories - Shaurya Chakra, Vir Chakra and Kirti Chakra.

The Gallantry awards were presented to personnel from the Indian Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and State/Union Territory Police forces. Awards were also conferred in Posthumous Category.
