New Delhi, May 15 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has departed on a five-nation tour to the UAE, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy. On the first leg of his visit to the UAE, he will meet President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's five-nation visit from May 15 to 20 comes at a significant moment following the conclusion of the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement and implementation of the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement.

The visit aims to deepen India's strategic partnerships in trade, investment, defence, energy security, technology, innovation and people-to-people ties.
