Monsoon arrives early in Mizoram, IMD urges public vigilance
New Delhi, May 26 -- Monsoon has officially begun in Mizoram from today, according to the forecast issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), New Delhi. Officials have urged the public to remain cautious and vigilant as the rainy season sets in across the state. The monsoon has arrived six days earlier than usual in Mizoram and other Northeastern states, as well as in Kerala, this year. Speaking on the development, IMD Aizawl Director Pu Sudheer Kumar Dwivedi said the monsoon generally begins in June, but experts had predicted its onset on 26 May this year.
