Iran demands war compensation to reopen Hormuz Strait
New Delhi, Aug. 10 -- Iran insisted Sunday that it would not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until the United States complied with a list of demands, including paying compensation for war damage.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday that an agreement with Oman on the strait was in its "final stages" but repeated that the U.S. must meet other conditions before the strategic waterway is reopened. Araghchi also said Tehran was only "exchanging messages" with the U.S. via intermediaries.
