New Delhi, March 13 -- Iran has permitted ships from certain countries to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi denied that the Islamic Republic is laying mines in the waterway, which remains effectively closed amid the ongoing conflict with the US and Israel.

In an interview, Takht-Ravanchi said that, from Iran's perspective, countries involved in the aggression should not benefit from safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
