New Delhi, Oct. 1 -- India on September 30 issued an advisory for its citizens travelling to Russia, cautioning them against being recruited into the Russian armed forces and warning them about the risks involved.

The fresh advisory for Indians travelling to Russia was issued by the External Affairs Ministry. This comes as India continues to receive reports of its nationals being recruited into the Russian armed forces during the Ukraine conflict.

The advisory also 'underlined the risks and dangers inherent in this course of action' on several occasions over the past 2 years and advised Indian citizens 'to be cautious' in pursuing job opportunities abroad and not get lured by 'job offers from unverified individuals'.
