New Delhi, May 5 -- As Kiran Mazumdar, founder and chairperson of Biocon, names neice Claire Mazumdar as her successor, she clarifies that the transition will happen at an appropriate time, adding that she has no immediate plans to retire.

She posted on X, Claire will transition into my role at the right time so not planning to hang up my boots just yet!!

She also told Reuters, she plans a gradual leadership transition over the next five years and her niece Claire Mazumdar expected to take over as chair in a phased manner
