Balurghat, Sept. 20 -- A 19-year-old youth from Patiram in South Dinajpur's Balurghat block has been missing for the past few days after going to Goa for work, leaving his family worried. The youth, Pradip Karmakar, is the son of Paritosh Karmakar, a resident of Kachharipara area in Patiram.
According to family members, Pradip had gone to Goa in connection with his work and was employed
there. However, communication with him suddenly stopped a few days ago. His mobile phone has also remained switched off.
Following the loss of contact, the family contacted acquaintances and other people from the area who are working in Goa. They reportedly told the family that they too had not seen Pradip for several days.
With no information about his whereabouts, Pradip's father, Paritosh Karmakar, lodged a missing-person diary at Patiram police station. Since then, family members have been making repeated attempts to establish contact and trace the youth. However, no information about Pradip has been received so far.
The continued absence of the 19-year-old has increased the anxiety of his family, who are hoping for his safe return.
"We have not been able to contact Pradip for several days and his phone is switched off. We have also contacted people known to him in Goa but they have not seen him either. We have lodged a missing diary with Patiram police and are desperately waiting for some information about him," said Paritosh Karmakar.
