
Kolkata, Oct. 5 -- The Tea Board on Monday held a seminar on e-auction where industry experts shared their views on the pros and cons of the e auction process and how it was industry friendly. Among the experts were Kavi Seth, Ajit Raha, Ishtpreet Singh, and Gopal Podder.
C Murugan, deputy chairman of Tea Board said he was implementing the recommendations of studies done for the past couple of years. It is to take some steps for reforms. We got inputs from auctioners ." He said this
reform of Tea Board is to ensure there is
no entry barrier for buyers as Tea Board wants to provide better service to the tea consumers.
Murugan also felicitated heritage tea stall owners including one from Serampore which is over 113 years old. Even the tea stall owners of Balwant Singh Dhaba and Chitta shop were honoured. Murugan said we are branding heritage tea stalls
