
New Delhi, Sept. 14 -- SJVN has started commercial electricity supply from 660 MW Unit-II of the Buxar thermal power project, its CMD Bhupender Gupta said on Monday.
The supply began at midnight on Friday last week, making the entire 1,320 MW capacity fully operational, SJVN said.
"CMD Bhupender Gupta today commemorated the commercial operation of Unit-II of 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project in Bihar," the company said.
According to SJVN, the 660 MW Unit-I of the Buxar project started commercial supply of electricity on November 14, 2025.
The Buxar Thermal Power Project, located in Chausa, Buxar district, Bihar, has been implemented by SJVN Thermal Private Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company.
Equipped with state-of-the-art supercritical technology, the project ensures higher efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
