New Delhi, Nov. 5 -- The Congress on Thursday hit back at Union Home Minister Amit Shah for describing the INDIA bloc's November 1 rally as a 'Ghuspetiya Bachao' event, saying he had failed to handle his ministry and should consider returning to the BJP's organisational role.
Congress media and publicity department head Pawan Khera said Shah should give up the Home Ministry if he was unable to manage the country's security challenges.
"Mota bhai, if the Home Ministry is beyond your control, why are you still clinging to that chair? In 7 years, the country's 3 crore infiltrators haven't been managed. Manipur hasn't been under control for 3 years. Now even Arunachal Pradesh isn't being managed," Khera said in a post in Hindi on X.
Referring to the Pulwama and Pahalgam attacks, the Red Fort blast and the recovery of 300 kg of RDX near the national capital, Khera said the Home Ministry was not within Shah's capabilities.
He suggested that Shah return as BJP national president and take his "mobile circus" across the country. Khera also said BJP president Nitin Nabin should be freed from his responsibilities.
Earlier, addressing a rally in Karnal after leading the BJP's 'Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao' march, Shah accused the INDIA bloc of protecting infiltrators.
He said the November 1 rally was not about saving votes but protecting infiltrators, reiterating the BJP's resolve to detect, delete and deport them. Shah also accused Rahul Gandhi of disrupting parliamentary proceedings and turning boycotts into Congress culture.
