Chandigarh, Sept. 20 -- Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday directed officials to ensure smooth paddy procurement and warned that strict action would be taken if any negligence was found during the process.
Addressing a meeting at the Babain Market Committee office, Saini reviewed procurement arrangements with farmers, arhtiyas, traders, rice millers and administrative officials. He directed the Food and Supplies Department and mandi authorities to ensure that farmers faced no difficulty during the procurement season.
The chief minister said the Meri Fasal Mera Byora (MFMB) portal would be reopened from September 21 to 27 to allow farmers whose applications had not been submitted to complete the process. Farmers whose crop verification is pending have been advised to submit written requests to their respective Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) for completing the verification.
Saini said information had been received about pending crop verification and applications that had not been submitted through the MFMB portal. The decision to reopen the portal was taken to address these issues, he said.
He said the government had been implementing various measures for farmers and claimed that all 24 crops grown in Haryana were being procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP).
Saini said vegetable growers were being covered under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, while eligible farmers receive Rs 6,000 annually directly into their bank accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
