Patiala, Sept. 25 -- PSPCL has directed all Drawing & Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to update pension records to ensure timely disbursement of financial benefits to pensioners and family members.
Chief Engineer, Distribution South Zone, Patiala, Er. Rattan Kumar Mittal said the issue was raised during a meeting involving PSPCL CMD Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, IAS, the PSEB Joint Forum and Bijli Mulazam Ekta Manch Punjab.
It was found that the dates of death of 2,109 pensioners and dates of birth of 876 family pensioners were missing from the pension package, affecting access to benefits including LTC and Old Age Allowance.
Kirpal has directed all DDOs to complete the exercise within 15 days. In a September 23, 2026 letter, PSPCL asked offices to verify and promptly update records based on relevant documents. Offices have also been directed to contact pensioners directly where documents or information are incomplete.
