Jhansi, Oct. 27 -- Congress leader Rahul Rao has called for nationwide participation in the party's proposed "Save Vote - Save Democracy" rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on November 1, demanding transparency in electoral rolls and accountability of the Election Commission. Addressing a press conference organised by the District and City Congress Committees in Jhansi on October 26, the AICC observer alleged irregularities in electoral rolls and sought impartial investigations into concerns raised in Maharashtra, Mahadevapura, Aland and Haryana.
He demanded an independent, time-bound inquiry into discrepancies during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), public access to verifiable electoral data and effective remedies for eligible voters whose names are missing or deleted.
