New Delhi, Sept. 11 -- IRCTC recorded its highest-ever single-day booking of 20,06,353 tickets on September 7, 2026, amid festive-season demand, followed by 19,50,699 tickets on September 8. About 89 per cent of reserved tickets are booked online.
The NGeT system's capacity has nearly doubled through new servers, software optimisation and architectural upgrades. A new UI beta version was introduced on July 15, while Anti-BOT measures have cut malicious traffic by 55-65 per cent.
Aadhaar authentication and restrictions on agents during the first 10 minutes have strengthened the system. IRCTC said NGeT remained operational despite heavy concurrent demand.
