Chandigarh, Oct. 11 -- Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday inaugurated the state's first Tourist Police Post at Shri Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula to strengthen security, provide assistance to devotees and improve policing at religious sites.

The facility will function as an integrated assistance and information centre, offering guidance, complaint registration and emergency support to devotees visiting the temple from different states and linguistic backgrounds.

A total of 20 specially trained police personnel have been deployed round the clock. Wearing distinctive uniforms, they have received training in courteous behaviour, communication and soft skills to help devotees identify them easily and seek assistance.

During the inauguration, Saini was briefed on the post's facilities and security arrangements. He said the large number of devotees visiting the temple made it necessary for police personnel to understand their language and needs and provide prompt assistance.

The centre will provide information on darshan queues, VIP arrangements, shoe-deposit facilities, prasad, langar, transport hubs and parking. Visitors will also receive directions to other religious sites, including Shri Kali Mata Temple and Shri Chandi Mata Temple in Kalka.

Security will be monitored through more than 100 CCTV cameras installed across the temple complex, with live surveillance from the post's control room.
