New Delhi, Sept. 25 -- The CISF on Friday signed a three-year MoU with the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS) to strengthen psychological wellness, stress management and clinical mental health support for its personnel.

The agreement was signed by CISF IG (Administration) Pratibha Agarwal and IHBAS Professor and Head of Clinical Psychology Dr Vibha Sharma, in the presence of CISF DG Praveer Ranjan and IHBAS Director Dr Rajinder K Dhamija, who joined through video conference.

Under the partnership, IHBAS will conduct specialised psychometric assessments of personnel deployed in sensitive units, including those proposed for deployment at the Parliament House Complex.

The collaboration will focus on early detection of behavioural warning signs, acute stress and psychiatric emergencies, besides training CISF medical and supervisory personnel for timely intervention.

IHBAS will also provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment, including alcohol dependence services, through its outpatient and inpatient facilities. Training-of-trainers programmes will create CISF mental-health master trainers.

The force will conduct awareness programmes and facilitate access to Tele-MANAS (14416) for round-the-clock emergency assistance. Ranjan said the partnership would improve early identification, counselling and clinical management while helping reduce stigma around seeking mental healthcare.
