Kolkata / Lucknow, May 12 -- The CBI on Tuesday took over the investigation into the murder of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari's personal assistant Chandranath Rath, following a recommendation from the West Bengal government.
A seven-member Special Investigation Team, led by DIG Pankaj Kumar Singh, reached Kolkata and visited the crime spot in Madhyamgram. Three accused have been arrested from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, while two shooters remain absconding. Investigators suspect the conspiracy may have been planned in eastern Uttar Pradesh before being executed in Bengal.
