New Delhi, Sept. 3 -- The Adani Group is expanding its presence across Congress-led and other non-BJP-ruled states, with projects worth about Rs 5 lakh crore spanning roads, ports, power, renewables, cement and data centres, sources said.
The group is pursuing investments in Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh, reflecting growing demand for private capital for infrastructure and job creation.
In Karnataka, Adani Enterprises emerged as the lowest bidder for both packages of the proposed 16.75-km north-south tunnel road in Bengaluru, quoting Rs 22,267 crore. The contract is yet to be finalised. The group already operates the 1,200-MW Udupi power plant and Mangaluru International Airport.
In Kerala, Adani Ports developed Vizhinjam International Seaport and launched its second phase in January 2026 with an additional Rs 16,000 crore, taking cumulative investment to about Rs 30,000 crore. It also operates Thiruvananthapuram airport.
Telangana signed MoUs with Adani companies worth Rs 12,400 crore, while Tamil Nadu attracted MoUs exceeding Rs 42,700 crore.
In Bihar, Adani plans to invest Rs 50,000 crore to Rs 60,000 crore over three to four years, including a Rs 27,000 crore, 2,400-MW power project. The group also operates Jharkhand's 1,600-MW Godda plant.
In Andhra Pradesh, Adani is investing over Rs 20,000 crore in renewable capacity and transmission lines and operates Krishnapatnam Port.
