Chandigarh, Oct. 20 -- Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said on Tuesday that the essence of Ram Rajya in governance lies in caring for the poor, ensuring respect for farmers, providing opportunities to the youth, ensuring the safety and empowerment of women, and extending support to the elderly.

Guided by this approach, the benefits of government schemes are being delivered to the last person standing in the social hierarchy. The government is working in accordance with the spirit of Ram Rajya by ensuring equal opportunities and dignity for every citizen, he added.

He made the remarks during the Vijay Dashami celebrations organised by Jai Bharat Kala Manch in Ladwa. The CM performed the aarti of Lord Sri Ram, prayed for the happiness and prosperity of Haryana's people, announced financial assistance of Rs 11 lakh for the organising body and flagged off the procession.

Extending Vijay Dashami greetings, Saini said the festival celebrates India's eternal cultural and spiritual consciousness.

He said that while burning the effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhakarna, people should also resolve to eliminate the evils within themselves. Only then will the festival be truly meaningful.
