ALOR SETAR, May 19 -- A woman who was allegedly stabbed by a man inside a Mazda 3 car in front of a restaurant in Titi Gajah, Kepala Batas in Alor Setar, Kedah, has successfully undergone a 10-hour surgery.

The victim's sister, who declined to be named, said the woman, who sustained neck injuries, underwent surgery at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) on Monday, Sinar Harian reported today.

"My sister successfully underwent surgery from 9am to 7pm yesterday and is still being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at HSB," she said, adding that the victim was placed under sedation after the procedure.

She also requested privacy and said the family is not ready to issue any further statement regarding the incident.
