KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 -- Two women were killed early this morning after they were thrown from a Perodua Myvi during a collision involving a stalled lorry at the Batang Sadong Bridge in Simunjan, Sarawak.

The 6.30am incident claimed the life of 19-year-old Nurfazilah Ramli at the scene, while the identity of the second victim has yet to be confirmed, BuletinTV3 reported.

The Myvi driver, identified as 30-year-old Harudin Ramli, sustained injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department's Operations Centre said emergency services received a distress call at 6.30am before a team from the Simunjan Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the location.
