KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 4 -- A 12-year-old boy was killed while his 14-year-old friend was injured after the motorcycle they were riding was crushed between two lorries outside Batu 3 Mosque on Jalan Jeniang in Gurun, Kedah, yesterday.

Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan said police received a report at 2pm on an accident involving three vehicles, Astro Awani reported.

He said the deceased, Muhammad Ilham Firdaus Mohamad Iruan, a Year Six pupil at a school in Pendang, suffered severe injuries to his body and both thighs after becoming trapped between the lorries.

"His 14-year-old friend, who was riding pillion, suffered injuries to his hands and legs," he said.
