KOTA TINGGI, Sept. 6 -- Police have arrested a Malaysian man in his 70s after he allegedly slashed his wife with a parang during an argument over the TV volume at their house in Taman Desa Sejahtera here.

Kota Tinggi police received information at about 9.30pm yesterday about an injured woman bleeding from the wound at home, district police chief Superintendent Yusof Othman said in a Facebook statement today.

He said a police team was sent to the house where they found the man, who is the victim's husband, and arrested him.

Early investigation found that the couple quarrelled after the wife increased the television volume before the suspect, who was reportedly intoxicated, allegedly attacked her with the blade.
