KOTA TINGGI, Aug. 26 -- Three people died after a two-vehicle crash at KM 80 of the Johor Bahru-Mersing Road on Monday evening, police said.

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said in a statement that police received a report of the accident at around 5:25pm.

The collision involved a Toyota Vios, driven by a 21-year-old local man with a 20-year-old local woman as a passenger, and a Honda City driven by a 35-year-old local man.

All three occupants suffered severe head and body injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by the attending medical assistant, according to the statement. Their bodies have been sent to the Forensic Unit at Kota Tinggi Hospital for further investigation.
