SHAH ALAM, May 21 -- Senior political advisor to the Prime Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz has expressed his gratitude to the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, for granting him an audience yesterday and for His Royal Highness' reminder on the importance of unity.

In a Facebook post, Tengku Zafrul said the Sultan's advice should be understood within the framework of Malaysia's constitutional monarchy, which has long been a pillar of national stability.

"The Sultan's remarks are not political interference but the counsel and views of a ruler, born of responsibility to safeguard harmony and the interests of the people," he said.
