KLANG, May 17 -- A 75-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a tragic accident that claimed the lives of two sisters in Bandar Baru Klang last Thursday.

The siblings, aged 57 and 62, were reportedly walking to dinner with a 17-year-old boy when they were struck by a sport utility vehicle (SUV) along Jalan Pekan Baru.

Klang Utara district police chief ACP S. Vijaya Rao confirmed that the local man was detained at approximately 11.40 am on Friday to assist with investigations.

"Checks revealed that the suspect has no prior criminal or drug-related records. The driver will be remanded for further investigation," Vijaya Rao said in a statement.
