SINGAPORE, Sept. 6 -- Chinese food delivery giant Meituan has denied offering cross-border delivery services after a viral video showed a man in its signature yellow uniform claiming he had been flown to Singapore to buy just S$13.50 (RM43) worth of curry puffs.

Singapore-based Chinese-language newspaper Lianhe Zaobao reported yesterday that Meituan had not launched any international food delivery or errand service.

A customer service representative contacted through the Meituan app said customers could not place orders in China and have a rider fly to Singapore to collect food.

The representative stressed that Meituan does not support such arrangements and provides no cross-border delivery service.
